Do you have one you can give me at lightning for free? No? Well then there we go. :P
You will have to be patient. It is on the list of things to be bought with the next bit of money I get (I do actually have a list, pretty pathetic) and this will stop gap till then.

two screaming children are making things difficult, the volume switch on them is broken in the "loud screachy voice position" :slap:

also the 2 mutts insist on barking at every rambler that walks past the window, :|

dogs are now locked in their "cage", pity i cant fit the kids in there as well :(

Overhauled three Version 3 Gearboxes, and built a Version 2 'box to drop into the MP44 when it turns up (I've got a ton of spares around here, and it means i don't have to bother cracking the OEM box open - just drop the replacement straight in)

Oh yeah, and I was fecking bored and it gave me something to do

Managed to make a 28 round garand mag out of an AGM shotty mag and some other bits.

It still doesn't feed perfectly, but there is hope.

I took apart a Marui 30rnd shotty mag and noticed the internals were quite similar.

Basically I'm using the spring and follower from that and have widened the slot in the AGM mag to take the wider spring and hence allow the bbs to double-stack.

Today I....

Had a think about last minute items I needed for next weekend at Crich as I'm going to Anchor Supplies tomorrow but more importantly I didn't have to do the bloody Asda weekly shop. Three weeks ago blummin wifelet decided to try going downstairs with using the stair treads. Frankly if i was going to try that trick I would have slid down the banisters but oh no, she had to do it the difficult way.

She tried to blame it on the cat (who quite naturally was lying along the top step) but anyway there was an almighty thump and I found her (the wife, not the kitten) at the bottom of the first flight of stairs. There was a massive hole in the plaster so I immediately feared the worst and rushed outside to see if any of the bricks had been dislodged. They were fine so I ran back upstairs and pulled out the insurance policies (it pays to be prepared) then attended madam who was lying immobile. I quickly switched to first aider role and ran through the vital signs and gave her a quick once over. As I immobilised her head with strategically placed pillows (one either side of the head, one covering the nose and mouth) I rang 999. They were here within 2 minutes which gave me time to scan the policies and made a quick calculation on whether the purchase of an MP44 was OK. One nights hospitalisation would do it.

Meeting the ambulance crew I gave them a professional appraisal of the patients condition, just as I had learned from the BBC's useful Casualty program. "The patient is concious and vocal, breathing rapid, 120 over 50, suspected broken neck and multiple fractures to tib and fib. I've given her 5 milligrams of atropine and put her on a saline drip." I could tell they were impressed and my job was done as they didn't need to consult me again.

Now, this left me with a problem. I was supposed to be meeting Old 'Un up at the Wakefield site for a site planning meeting for Operation Aerial. As the ambulance doors closed she called out "I'll be OK - you go on up to your very important meetin, I'll see you later."
"OK, thanks, see you later then" I said.
The paramedic (who looked like Jodie Kidd's double) gave me a dirty look which wasn't unusual in itself, I have that effect on women, but I sort of got the idea that I was supposed to go to the hospital myself as some sort of moral support. Rather than go in the ambulance (I didn't trust myself being locked in with Jodie Kidd) I followed the ambulance to the A&E. Well, I say followed, more like nip down to Springfields in Burton for a spare 37 pat belt then back to Derby. Not a problem with wifelet, I blamed being held up by traffic and not having blues and twos like she did.

Anyhoo, after a fairly uneventful six hours at A&E - her fainting twice was quite entertaining, as was her falling into a drunken slumber after a dose of diazepam - I was wheeling her to the car to return home. Eight pounds feckin fifty pee for the hospital car park! That got stopped out of her next week's housekeeping money, I can tell you.

So, turns out nothing broken (apart from the plaster) but a walloped coccyx and heavy bruising around one hip (no insurance payout for that so I'll have to fund the MP44 some other way) which meant that she couldn't bend down. So for three weeks I have had to do all the cleaning, washing, shopping and other women's work as well as more important things like surfing this forum. Oh, and going to work.

Until today. Joy of joys, the hell that is Asda will trouble me on more. Off she went with a bundle of eco-friendly reusable shopping bags tucked under her arm hobbling on foot the short four and a half miles to Asda. Hoorah I thought, as did manly things like staining the patio furniture and cleaning the hamster's cage, the status quo is restored. Two hours later I got a phone call to say she was finished so I leap in the car and zoomed off to pick her and the weekly shopping up.

What? You didn't think I'd make he walk back with it did you? I do care you know....

Dicovered that the heavily blancoed 37 pattern belt was actually painted with something impervious to all known paintstrippers.

That information is classified.

Suffice it to say, with the assistance of a friend, I shall be building a springer K98. Actually, let me rephrase that - he will be building me a springer K98.
